The Town Board and I hope that the information provided to you will assist you and inform you about Town Government and the services that we render and also discover the opportunities and amenities that the Town of Haverstraw offers to our residents.

Our website will keep you updated on the many recreational and cultural activities that have been scheduled.

I am proud to be the Supervisor of the Town of Haverstraw. Haverstraw is rich in its history, its culture and its people. It is a great place to live and learn. Our future is bright and there are many things happening in Haverstraw which include the County Waterfront Park, development of a town park in the unincorporated area, youth and senior activities and much more.

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7:00PM in the large meeting room of the Town Hall

The Zoning Board of Appeals has all the authority and duties prescribed by the State of New York Town Law and Town of Haverstraw code standards, including but not limited to the following:
  1. Appeals:
    An order, requirement, decision or determination of the building inspector or similar official charged with the enforcement of the codes of the Town of Haverstraw.

  2. Interpretations:
    On an appeal from any order, requirement, decision or determination of the building inspector or similar official charged with the enforcement of the codes of the Town.

    1. Determinations of the meaning of any portion of the text of the zoning codes or of any condition or requirement specified or made under the provisions of the code.

  3. Variances:
    1. Bulk Variances
    2. Use Variances

  4. Special Permits:
    See special permits uses as listed in the Haverstraw Town Code Land Use regulations.
Upon filing of an application with the secretary to the board, a fee shall be payable to the Town of Haverstraw in accordance with the schedule of fees as adopted.

Residential - $250.00
Vacant Land - $300.00
Commercial - $400.00

The schedule of fees does not include the services of any legal, planning, engineering, environmental or other requirements determined necessary by the board.
